Neighborhood Police Officers Program

Useful Safety Tips
In July 2008 the City of Palm Springs and the Neighborhood Organization started a program called “Neighborhood Policing Officers” (NPO.) The Police Department assigned two officers to each neighborhood. As more neighborhood organizations formed, the Police Department added more of their department.
The police officers assigned to your neighborhood become your source for help on NON-EMERGENCY issues.

If a real emergency is happening, call 911.

The emails of the officers are available to each neighborhood in ONE-PS, and are available here. Some of the benefits are:
  • You can email your Neighborhood's Police Officer with information about what you have observed. Don’t hesitate to take advantage of this opportunity. Your information could be quite useful.
  • The Neighborhood Police Officer will have a contact in your neighborhood through your Neighborhood Leaders.
  • The Neighborhood Police Officer, if asked and approved, will attend your neighborhood meetings and can present statistics on crime issues in your neighborhood.
For Neighborhood Organization Leaders, please send an email introducing yourself to the NPO’s assigned to your neighborhood. The officers will be re-assigned from time to time, so it is always good to keep each other informed. Not only are they your source for help, they can also be treated as your friend. In times of crisis we work together. Click here for more information on the program.

ONE-PS (the organized neighborhoods of palm springs, California) is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit public benefit organization of volunteers dedicated to building our community through individual neighborhood organizations.
