High Fire Area Inspection Program

Per Government Code Section 51175-51189, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) has identified some homes within your neighborhood to be located within the Wildland-Urban Interface, also known as the “Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone.” The primary goal of this program is to reduce the potential threat of vegetation fires in our City.

The potential for wildland fire is a serious threat to the safety of our community. Inspections are based on the adopted California Fire Code and The City of Palm Springs Fire Department Appendix “S.” All Inspections will be charged in accordance with the City of Palm Springs fee schedule.

To find out if your home is subject to inspection, visit: https://egis.fire.ca.gov/FHSZ/   Click on the Binocular icon (address search), type in your address and if it appears in the red area on the map you are subject to inspection.

To schedule an inspection, and for further information on requirements for vegetation management, please visit:  https://www.palmspringsca.gov/government/departments/fire-department/wildfire-preparedness/request-a-high-fire-area-inspection
